
Sarah Warsop is a jewellery designer, choreographer and artist based in London.
This year, Sarah received an Arts Council England award for Jewellery Design, and she recently exhibited a film installation at Victoria Miro Gallery, London. In the Summer, she will speak on her work at Kettle's Yard, Cambridge, adding to a long list of talks, appearances and interviews. She recently received an MA in Jewellery Design from the Fashion School at Central Saint Martins, London.
As a dancer, Sarah joined Siobhan Davies Dance in 1997 and has been part of the creative development and performance of Siobhan Davies' works of the past twelve years, touring the UK, US and Europe.
She began her choreographic career while a dancer with Rambert Dance Company, (1991-1997) where she worked with choreographers such as Merce Cunningham, Richard Alston and Christopher Bruce. Her solo Small Hours toured as part of the Rambert repertoire in Britain and China.
She first ventured into gallery spaces with a solo performance work in the pre-Raphaelite Gallery at Tate Britain in 2002. Flap, a collaboration with a visual artist and composer, comprised a solo choreographed and performed by Sarah, and featured two virtual performers on screens dancing the same solo.
In 2004, Sarah collaborated with photographer Karni Arieli in a photographic series for Nick Knight's online art showcase, SHOWstudio.
Sarah's choreographic works have also been presented through her company, Snag Dance Project. Over the past decade, Sarah has created and performed ten major dance works with the company, for venues as diverse as Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Royal Opera House and the Wales Millennium Centre, regularly collaborating with composers, DJs, dancers and visual artists.
Through Snag Dance Project, Sarah also helped create a space for choreographers and performers to engage audiences in experimental dialogues through a three-year partnership with the Royal Opera House ROH2, curating and commissioning new works from the UK and Europe
